Uses Heartgard Plus Chewables contains ivermectin and pyrantel as the active ingredients. Heartgard Chewables are used in the prevention of canine heartworm disease. Cautions Heartgard is contraindicated in animals with a history of an allergic reaction to ivermectin.Your pet should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment with Heartgard Plus which is not effective against adult D.immitis. Keep out of reach of children. How to use Heartgard Chewables should be administered orally at a monthly interval to your dog. Administer this medication to your pet as directed by the veterinarian and follow the instructions on manufacturer’s packaging. Possible side effects Depression, lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, hpersalivation are some of the possible side effects. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your veterinarian promptly. Missed dose If you miss giving a dose, give it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose.
